Vintage 1950s Tin Can Squeaking Bird
with Flapping Wings
Vintage Tin Lithograph Toy, 1950s,
This is a brightly coloured tin bird
(different design on either side)
When you squeeze the handle the wings flap
and makes a squeaking sound.
There is a paper accordion in the middle of the toy
that makes the whistling sound when squeezed.
Lithograph colours are bright.
There are tantalising remnants of the tin cans
that went into the manufacture of the bird -
with some bits of writing from the original can.
The squeak works well (our dogs loved it...)
and the wings flap and creak.
Pink bird on one side, blue bird on the other.
Manufacturer unknown.
These are rare and no longer made
